Two AlJazeera employees; Ismail Al-Ghoul and Rami Al-Rifi were also killed in an Israeli air strike targeting their vehicle in the Al-Shati refugee camp in northern Gaza. The attack did not leave the journalists alone: The attack also killed Khaled Al-Shawa, a 16-year-old Palestinian, and received criticism from advocacy groups; concerned with the risks that local reporters have to face every day. Al-Jazeera has termed the strike as a process of extermination and refuted Israel’s allegations of Al-Ghoul having links with Hamas. This event highlights the high dangers in the reporters underlining over 113 murdered since October, prompting the obligation for the government to halt violence on journalists.
