An international research team has recently identified which animal species brought about the coronavirus.
According to a new analysis, samples of COVID-19 are composed of DNA from animals such as civet cats and raccoon dogs. The latter was genetically the most common animal in the samples.
Michael Worobey, an author from the University of Arizona, stated that those are the same species of animals that transferred the original SARS coronavirus to humans in 2002.
