Yes, surprising right? However, they are not recognized in the manner with which we comprehend sleep. Cottel and James have done some research as indicated below, The ants do rest periodically and each nest respite together which is approximately 8 minutes in a period of 12 hours.

It’s incredible to think ants have their own way of resting, even if it’s so different from how we think about sleep. Those 8-minute breaks sound like a tiny, but crucial, reset for them! Thanks for sharing this cool info!
