Scheduled for a 2025 release, the Hollywood film 'F1' will star Brad Pitt as a former F1 driver returning to race for the fictional APXGP team alongside rookie Damson Idris. The film, directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, features a star-studded cast including Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia, and Samson Kayo. Seven-time F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton serves as a producer and script consultant.
The first teaser will be unveiled on Sunday, 7 July. Despite delays due to the Hollywood SAG-AFTRA strikes, the film is set for an international release on 25 July 2025 and a US release on 27 July 2025. Filming has taken place at various iconic locations, including the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, Hungaroring, Spa-Francorchamps, Mexico City, Las Vegas, and Abu Dhabi, with APXGP branded pitlane garages in operation.
Recent reports suggest the film's budget has exceeded $300 million, although this figure is contested by the producers.
