Bacon Jam

I received a jar of this from my mom. She got it online. I tasted a spoonful and I did not like it. Overly sweet. I thought it would be less sweet and more savory. I love bacon but this jam is not for me. In my mind I thought it would be more like a tomato based product with bacon in it.

I get that well! It's astonishing how sweet bacon jam can be. To salvage it, consider glazing meats like pig or chicken, where the sweetness may accentuate the savory aromas. For a novel twist, combine a tiny quantity with a grilled cheese sandwich.
