Workers at the London Zoo were astonished to find an unexpected Banksy mural on Tuesday. The artwork, which features a gorilla holding up the zoo's entrance gate while birds fly away and a sea lion waddles off, was discovered early in the morning. Banksy’s recent streak of whimsical animal-themed art across London included this surprise mural at the zoo, where it quickly drew crowds. The piece, showcasing a gorilla among other animals, was shielded with plastic later to protect it from theft or damage. Zoo staff, including former gorilla keeper Dan Simmonds, are thrilled by the unexpected addition to their space, though the true meaning behind the mural remains a mystery known only to Banksy.
