Boiled Custard

Most years I've seen tons of this leftover after the holidays, but I haven't found a single half gallon this entire season. I finally found the shelf label where some USED to be (so I assume at least one store had some at one time), but - although there's still plenty of eggnog - boiled custard is nowhere to be found. Do you like and drink this at Christmas and New Year's, and have you been able to locate some? If not, I wonder why???

Boiled custard is a holiday favorite, but it's hard to find this year. Try local dairies or make it at home!
