Book-to-Movie Adaptations

I always have mixed feelings about book-to-movie adaptations. While some are fantastic, like "The Lord of the Rings," others miss the mark. What’s your favorite book-to-movie adaptation? Do you prefer reading the book first or watching the movie?

I totally get that! Some adaptations really capture the essence of the book, while others fall short. My favorite might be "The Lord of the Rings" as well—it was beautifully done. I usually prefer reading the book first to imagine the story on my own before seeing it on screen.
