Can cats actually recognize their owner's voice, or are they just ignoring us?

So apparently, cats do recognize their owners' voices, but they’ve evolved to not care as much. A study found that cats can distinguish between familiar and unfamiliar voices, but unlike dogs, they don’t feel obligated to respond. The ultimate "I hear you, but I’m not going to acknowledge you" vibe.

Haha, classic cat behavior! They totally recognize us but just choose to ignore us when they feel like it. Cats really embrace that “I’m the boss” attitude! It’s like they’re thinking, “I hear you, but I’ve got more important things to do… like napping.” So on brand! 😂
