Can music be a form of prayer in lesser-known religious practices?

So, I’ve been thinking a lot about how music and spirituality connect, especially in some lesser-known or older religions. I know some traditions consider singing or playing instruments to be a way to communicate with the divine. But can that be the prayer itself, like with no words? I’m wondering if any of you know about religious practices where music is central to prayer, beyond the usual stuff we hear about. What do you think—does music speak to the divine as much as spoken prayer?
