Chickpeas & Almonds: Protein Powerhouses 💪🥜


Chickpeas and almonds are surprisingly close to steak in protein content! Greg McFarlane from Vegan Australia pointed out in a chat with EatFirst that it's a myth you can't get strong on a vegan diet, and this is a prime example. According to Better Health, as long as you eat a variety of foods, a vegetarian or vegan diet can meet your protein needs. For instance, 100g of steak has about 25g of protein, while chickpeas have 21g and almonds pack a hefty 28g! So, if this means more hummus for you, we say go for it! 🥙💪
