The smell of comets is quite unpleasant indeed! For instance, the celestial body 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko is made up of gases that produce a stench of rotten eggs, urine, burning match, as well as almonds. This funky smell arises from residual amounts of hydrogen sulphide, ammonia, sulphur dioxide and hydrogen cyanide present in the comet. In 2016, they came up with postcards that smelled like this comet’s stench and I think it fits more today than it did back then.
