A new study from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) reveals that individuals recovering from dengue face significantly higher risks of long-term health complications compared to those who have COVID-19. The research shows a 55% increased risk of heart issues, such as irregular heartbeats, and a staggering 213% higher risk of cognitive disorders in dengue patients. The study, which examined over 11,000 dengue cases in Singapore, highlights the critical need for vigilance against dengue, especially as climate change expands the reach of the disease.
