Kampala’s Kiteezi landfill has been hit by a devastating landslide, tragically taking at least 12 lives and forcing around 1,000 people to flee their homes. The landslide, triggered by relentless heavy rain, collapsed a massive hill of rubbish, burying homes on the landfill’s edge while people slept. Rescue teams are working tirelessly, with 14 survivors pulled from the debris and more bodies being discovered.
