Did you know ancient Egyptians used 'fake beards' as a status symbol? Even queens wore them!

So apparently, ancient Egyptian royalty—including pharaohs and queens—sometimes wore false beards as a symbol of power and divinity! I stumbled on this little fact that queens like Hatshepsut wore a ceremonial beard made of metal to align with the status of the gods, as if the beard was an extension of divine rule. I guess it was like an early version of symbolic accessories—almost like a crown but, you know, on the chin. Anyone else find it surprising that even back then, status symbols had such a specific look?

Even women wore fake beards? That's interesting. 👑🫅 Are the beards those that were curvy and made of gold? That's what I usually see in movies.
