That's absolutely true! Grasshoppers have a unique auditory system that sets them apart from most other insects.

Instead of ears on their heads, they have tympanal organs located on their abdomens. These organs are sensitive to sound waves and help grasshoppers detect predators, locate mates, and communicate with other grasshoppers.
