Did You Know the Atlantic Ocean Is Getting Wider Each Year?

All continents are slowly moving due to tectonic plate activity. For example, the Atlantic Ocean is getting wider by about 2.5 centimeters (1 inch) each year as the continents of Europe and North America drift apart.

Isn’t it mind-blowing to think about how our world is constantly shifting, even if we can't see it? That tiny 2.5 cm a year might not seem like much, but over millions of years, it adds up to massive changes! Nature never ceases to amaze.
