Do Different Types of Grip Affect Distance in Javelin Throw?

I’ve noticed some athletes hold the javelin differently—some have a tight grip, while others go looser. Does the type of grip actually impact the throw’s distance, or is it more about comfort and personal style?

The grip can definitely impact the throw! A looser grip allows for better flexibility and a smoother release, which can help with distance. A tighter grip might give more control but could slow down the release. It's a balance between comfort, control, and power.
