Do religious experiences have a biological basis, or are they purely spiritual?

I've been thinking about this for a while and wanted to get everyone's opinion. Do you think that what people describe as "religious experiences" could have some kind of biological or neurological trigger? Or is it all spiritual and beyond the physical realm? For example, things like meditation, prayer, or even fasting seem to induce altered states of consciousness for many people. But is there a scientific explanation for that, or is it something we can never truly explain through biology? Would love to hear your thoughts!

I think this is a fascinating question! There’s definitely research suggesting a biological basis for religious experiences, like brain activity during meditation. Though, spirituality adds such a rich layer that science can’t fully explain! 🧠✨
