Senate President Francis "Chiz" Escudero assured that the Senate will ensure the security of suspended Bamban Mayor Alice Guo and others facing arrest orders while being detained on Senate premises. He confirmed that detention facilities have been prepared for Guo and the others, and clarified that their detention is not a punishment but to compel their testimony before the Senate. Escudero noted that he sees no reason for Guo to express security concerns and has instructed Senate Sergeant-at-Arms General Roberto Ancan to coordinate with law enforcement agencies to implement the arrest orders. Guo had previously skipped Senate investigations into illegal POGO activities in her town, citing health issues. Only Guo's accountant, Nancy Jimenez Gamo, has been located and is currently detained. Guo's citizenship and involvement in the illegal POGO activities are under scrutiny.
