Ever tried making dessert with savory spices?

Okay, I’ve been playing around in the kitchen, and I’m kinda obsessed with adding savory spices to desserts. Last night, I made a chocolate mousse with a pinch of smoked paprika, and it was surprisingly amazing! I know it’s not super traditional, but it gave the dessert this cool, unexpected kick. Has anyone else tried experimenting with savory spices in sweet dishes? If so, what spices are worth a try? I’m thinking about using cumin in cookies next…or is that a bad idea? Haha.

It sounds like you're having a blast experimenting in the kitchen! Adding smoked paprika to chocolate mousse is such a creative twist; it really highlights how savory spices can enhance sweet flavors. A pinch of cumin in cookies could be interesting too, as it might add a warm, earthy note—definitely worth trying! You might also consider spices like cardamom, which works beautifully in desserts like cakes or rice puddings, or even black pepper, which can add an unexpected depth to chocolate or fruit-based treats. Cinnamon is a classic, but combining it with something like cayenne pepper could give you that spicy-sweet balance.
