The low rating of Filipino students “creative thinking,” as indicated in the latest Pisa study, is another manifestation of the learning system problem that has plagued the country for decades, an independent education coalition supported by the private sector said Thursday.

Justine Raagas, the executive director of PBEd, explained: It is not shocking anymore that 15-year old Filipino students ranked among the worst five worst performers in creative thinking with Albania, Uzbekistan, Morocco and Dominican Republic.

It's disheartening to hear that Filipino students' creative thinking is being impacted during this learning crisis. It's crucial that we find ways to support and nurture their creativity, as it's a fundamental aspect of their development and future success.
