Grimm fairy tales

Here’s an intriguing fact about the Brothers Grimm and their fairy tales: Many of the original Grimm fairy tales were much darker than the versions we know today. The Grimms initially collected and published these stories in the early 19th century, and they included themes of violence and moral lessons. For example, in the original version of "Snow White," the wicked queen is forced to dance in red-hot iron shoes until she dies. Over time, the stories were adapted and sanitized, especially in the versions popularized by Disney, to make them more suitable for children.
