I feel like villains in movies and shows lately are written with so much backstory and motivation that I actually start rooting for them a little...or at least sympathizing! 
It's like, instead of being the classic "bad guy," they're more misunderstood and complex. Do you guys like this shift toward more "human" villains, or do you miss the pure evil ones? Would love to hear if you have any favorite recent villains that fit this trend!
