The yet to release Harry Potter series on HBO has been written by Francesca Gardiner, who has worked on series like Succession, Killing Eve, and His Dark Materials: The upcoming season of Harry Potter series has revealed the duration of its first season. And according to the information, it is based on J.K. Rowling’s seven books and has Mark Mylod (Game of Thrones, The Menu) as an executive producer and director. Gardiner and Mylod stated that season one will be a critically extended eight hours to study the first book, and, presumably, the episodes will be an hour long for eight episodes in total. Snyder has no announced the date of the start of filming, but it is scheduled for summer 2025, and the show should be released in late 2026 or 2027.
The Harry Potter series is getting a fresh take on HBO with some seriously talented people behind it. Francesca Gardiner and Mark Mylod are big names in the industry, so it sounds like they’re going to make this show epic! An eight-hour season sounds like a perfect way to dive deep into the first book, and I’m sure the extended episodes will give fans a lot to look forward to. Can’t wait to see how they bring the Wizarding World to life in such a detailed way!
