So, I know hot buttered rum is typically a cozy winter drink, but I’ve been randomly craving it even though it’s still warm outside. I made a batch last week and it hit the spot. Am I totally alone in enjoying a hot drink when it’s not freezing out? Also, does anyone have a twist on the classic recipe they love? I’m thinking of experimenting with different spices or even a splash of something fruity next time.
There’s something so comforting about a warm beverage, no matter the season. I love the idea of adding different spices to your hot buttered rum—cinnamon and nutmeg are classics, but a little ginger or even cardamom could give it a fun twist! 
If you’re thinking of adding something fruity, maybe a splash of apple cider or a berry puree could elevate it even more. Have fun experimenting!
