How do you feel about music biopics casting non-musicians in lead roles? Does it take away from the authenticity?

I’m torn when I see actors playing iconic musicians in biopics, especially when they don’t have a musical background. Do you think this affects the film’s authenticity, or does it come down to the acting skills?
 
I think it really depends on the actor's ability to capture the essence of the musician, even without a musical background. While musical talent can add to the authenticity, strong acting can convey the artist's personality, struggles, and journey just as powerfully. A great performance can make up for any lack of musical expertise.
