How important is it to "interpret" versus "follow" in your faith?

Okay, here's one that’s been on my mind—how do you guys balance interpreting versus strictly following your faith? Like, there are so many different approaches people take, from following the teachings word-for-word to adding their own insights and understanding. Do you feel that personal interpretation brings you closer to the truth, or do you prefer to stick to the "rules" as they’re written? I’d love to hear if anyone has found a balance that works for them.

Such a thoughtful question! I think finding a balance between interpreting and following the teachings strictly is personal and can evolve over time. For me, I lean toward understanding the spirit behind the teachings while still respecting the core principles. It helps me feel more connected to the faith.

I think it depends on the person’s relationship with their faith. Some feel more connected by following exactly, while others find meaning through interpretation. Both have value, though!
