Indonesian immigration officials have detained 103 individuals holding Taiwanese passports in Bali, suspected of operating a cybercrime ring. The arrests occurred after a raid on a villa in Tabanan district, where officials seized hundreds of mobile phones and electronic devices. The detainees, including 12 women and 91 men, face deportation for visa misuse and suspected cybercriminal activities. Although the crimes are outside Indonesian jurisdiction, authorities are collaborating with international counterparts, including Malaysia. Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that only 14 of the arrested are suspected to be Taiwanese. This incident reflects a broader issue with cyber-fraud groups in Southeast Asia, with Indonesia intensifying efforts to combat such networks.
