Is it just me or do extensions ruin your natural lashes?

I’ve been obsessed with the "wispies" look lately and I’ve been getting extensions non-stop for about half a year. I love waking up and not having to deal with mascara, but I finally took them off yesterday to give my eyes a break and... omg. My real lashes are literally non-existent right now. They look so brittle and short, I’m actually kind of panicking lol.

Has anyone else dealt with this? I really don't want to give up extensions forever because I love the volume, but I need to find a way to fix my natural ones ASAP.

I was thinking about trying some kind of growth booster or a conditioning treatment that’s safe to use even with extensions on. If you guys have a "holy grail" product that actually works, please let me know! I need to save my lashes before my next appointment.

But honestly, don't panic! Your lashes aren't gone forever; they’re just in a super weak growth cycle because of the weight of the extensions. Here is what saved my life (and my lashes):

• The Holy Grail: Get yourself some The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Lash and Brow Serum. It’s super cheap and actually works. If you want to splurge, RevitaLash is the gold standard, but it's pricey.
• Extension-Safe Tip: If you decide to go back to extensions soon, make sure the serum you use is water-based (oil-free). Most peptide serums are fine, but double-check the label so it doesn't dissolve the glue!
• The "Conditioner" Trick: Apply a tiny bit of hyaluronic acid to your lash line at night. It sounds weird, but it hydrates the follicle without being greasy.
• Give it 3 weeks: It takes about 21 days for the new "baby" lashes to actually poke through and look like something. Just hang in there!

Next time you get extensions, maybe ask your tech for a "half set" or "Lite volumes" for a bit? It gives you that look you love but puts way less strain on your natural ones. Good luck, you've got this!

Oh no, I totally feel your pain—the post-extension "bald" look is the absolute worst!
