Israeli athletes competing in the 2024 Paris Olympics faced severe psychological threats, as confirmed by Israeli National Olympic committee President Yael Arad. These threats, described as attempts to instill fear, were centralized and aimed at creating psychological terror among the athletes. Tom Reuveny, part of the Israeli Olympic wind surfing team, also reported receiving threats, emphasizing the unwelcome intrusion of politics into sports. Recent incidents included booing and antisemitic chants directed at the Israeli men's soccer team, prompting strong condemnation and police investigation. Despite these challenges, Arad underscored the Olympic Games' role as a unifying platform and reiterated the athletes' determination to compete despite the adversity.
