In a tribute to Robert Jaworski Sr. at the PBA Press Corps Awards Night, a pop-up exhibit featuring the living legend’s memorabilia was installed before entering the hall where the awarding rites were being held. His son, Dodot Jaworski took the time to wonder at his father’s achievements and invaluable contributions to Philippine basketball. One of the greatest PBA players ever wasn’t done as he added another feather to his cap on Tuesday night. This time, he was feted with the Lifetime Achievement Award, which Dodot received on behalf of the 13-time PBA champion player and coach. Jaworski won nine titles with Toyota and three more as Ginebra’s playing coach before winning his last as Gordon’s Gin’s mentor. He holds the PBA all-time assists record with 5,825. Jaworski’s greatness was also on full display in the international scene, winning two gold medals for the Philippines in the Fiba Asia Championship in 1967 and 1973 and silver in 1971.
