Jellybeans are coated in bug secretions! 🪲🍬

Y’all, I just learned that jellybeans get their shiny coating from something called shellac, which comes from the secretions of an insect called the lac bug. Yep, we’re basically eating bug juice. 😳 Kinda gross but also kinda cool, right? Now I can’t look at candy the same way. Thoughts?

Right?! It’s wild how stuff we eat has such unexpected origins—like, who even thought, “Let’s try bug goo for candy”? 😂 Still, those shiny little beans hit different, so I’m not judging! 🍬
