Sup takes on and is becoming trendier especially in the seas but the water can be choppy for some to manage. To make it more accessible, Slovenian businessman Sebastjan Sitar decided to create SipaBoards in 2016, producing the first paddleboard for using water jet engines and inflating on its own. The board has an installed jet engine and compressor which inflates it with ease, and provides up to 6hours of ride time and a maximum speed of 4.3 mph. It can be controlled through an app or Bluetooth smart paddle which makes it safer for the users particularly those who have not learnt how to paddle. As we see more interest in e-SUPs and the overall paddleboard market estimated to be worth $1.65 billion by 2023, SipaBoards wants to transform the sport as e-bikes transformed cycle, albeit at a premium.
