JUSTIN Brownlee is optimistic innovations instituted in the PBA ahead of the new season will contribute to the league's growth. Fresh from his victorious stint in Indonesia with Pelita Jaya, the 36-year-old Ginebra import is thrilled to take his talent back to the PBA to face the new challenge of keeping up with some game adjustments for the 49th season. "I'm looking really to grow this season, playing with the new players, and applying the adjustments they made to the game," Brownlee told SPIN.ph during Sunday's opening ceremonies at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. "It only gets better, here's to growth," the Ginebra resident import added. Among the new rules that Brownlee will have to get used to are the four-point shot from 27 feet out, the removal of the backboard violation, and the 15-second leeway for fallen players to get back on their feet to avoid a mandatory substitution. The six-time PBA champion sees no problem adapting to the new rules and looks forward to playing for Ginebra's fans once again. "What did I miss most? It's the fans, to be honest, and the atmosphere they bring to the game, they're different," he added. Brownlee won't be returning to action until August 24 when Ginebra faces Rain or Shine in a road game in Candon, Ilocos Sur.
