It is Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s first time at the forefront of a superhero movie after joining the MCU as Quicksilver, but Kraven the Hunter is more of a misfire. It is a work of J.C. Chandor and it distinguishes itself from the others with the all-out brutal R-rating and hardcore violence painting a few of the bloodiest kills ever in the superhero genre—not even close to PG-13. To its credit, it’s probably the only basic Marvel flick that has no connections to the Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, though it might be daring by having a poor script and failed characters. Although there is a certain level of action and entertainment in the film because of Taylor-Johnson, it cannot surpass the trend of Sony’s Venom films, and may be remembered more like Morbius.
