On July 20, a global tech outage linked to a software update by cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike impacted nearly 8.5 million Microsoft devices, representing less than one percent of all Windows machines. Microsoft reported that CrowdStrike has developed a scalable solution to assist in resolving the issue, working in collaboration with Microsoft's Azure, Amazon Web Services, and Google Cloud Platform. The outage caused significant disruptions, including flight delays, cancellations, and challenges with check-ins, affecting various sectors such as banking and media.
