Despite being one of Studio Ghibli’s most beloved films, "My Neighbor Totoro" was a box office failure upon its initial release. It wasn’t until later, through merchandising and reruns, that the film gained its legendary status.

Never have I ever thought that it was a flop during its release. I really enjoyed My Neighbor Totoro and it was one of my go-to movies whenever I want to watch something light-hearted.
