On Aug. 24, CNN reported that NASA conducted a review to talk about the two astronauts stranded in space for 80 days. After examining the safety of their vehicles, NASA concluded that a SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule could be used to bring Sunita "Suni" Williams and Barry "Butch" Wilmore home, estimated to be in February 2025.
The Starliner vehicle carrying Williams and Wilmore to the International Space Station (ISS) launched on June 5 from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on Florida's Space Coast. It experienced helium leaks and thrusters didn't function during their trip into space.
