On the fourth anniversary of Belarus's disputed 2020 presidential election, the US, UK, and Canada have imposed new sanctions against Belarusian officials and entities. The measures target 19 individuals, 14 companies, and an airplane for evading existing sanctions and supporting Russia’s war in Ukraine. The sanctions also address human rights abuses and the regime's crackdown on pro-democracy protests, which have led to the imprisonment of nearly 1,400 people and the deaths of several political prisoners. The US, UK, and Canada, alongside the EU, reaffirmed their solidarity with the Belarusian people and vowed to continue exploring further actions against the Lukashenko regime.
