Okay so this has been on my mind for a few weeks and I finally decided to just ask around because I'm going in circles trying to figure this out on my own. My Patrol started hesitating when shifting around the 3rd to 4th gear range, nothing dramatic but noticeable enough that I don't want to ignore it. The thing is I've had mixed experiences with workshops here, one place quoted me an absurd amount without even properly diagnosing it, another one seemed fine but then called me three days later saying they found "additional issues" which always makes me nervous. Someone in another thread mentioned that going to Nissan car repair specialists in Dubai makes a real difference because they actually understand the common fault patterns these models have rather than just treating it like any random job. That actually makes a lot of sense to me now that I think about it because Patrols have their own quirks especially the older V8 ones. I'm going to ask around a bit more before I commit to anyone but I think the lesson here is that brand familiarity really does matter with these cars more than I initially gave it credit for. Has anyone had transmission work done on a Patrol here and actually walked away feeling like it was handled properly?
