Colombian President Gustavo Petro claimed on Friday that Ivan Mordisco, the leader of the Estado Mayor Central (EMC) rebel group, was plotting to have him assassinated using snipers. Petro suggested that Mordisco may be working with a mysterious "New Drug Trafficking Board" allegedly based in Dubai. The relationship between the Colombian government and EMC factions has worsened since a ceasefire fell apart in July. However, intelligence sources haven't confirmed the existence of the Dubai group or the alleged assassination plan.
