The Philippines has found two more mpox cases in Metro Manila. Both individuals tested positive for MPXV Clade II or the milder form of mpox virus. 😧

The Department of Health stated that the mpox case 11 is a 37-year-old man from the National Capital Region (NCR) who saw symptoms beginning Aug. 20, 2024. He was then admitted to a government hospital last Aug. 22 and remains there. 🏥

Meanwhile, mpox case 12 is a 32-year-old male from NCR who noticed skin lesions in his groin area with symptoms that began last Aug. 14, 2024, before developing a fever. He was then taken to a DOH hospital last Aug. 23. 🚑

The new cases bring the total mpox case count to 12 since July 2022, with nine cases recovered since 2023. 😷

It’s concerning to hear about more mpox cases in Metro Manila. 😟 It’s a reminder that we need to stay alert and continue following safety measures. Let’s hope for a quick recovery for those affected and do what we can to prevent the spread. Stay safe out there! 💪😷
