Poison Ivy contains a resin called urushiol, which is the primary cause of its irritating rash. Direct contact with any part of the plant, including the leaves, stems, and even the roots, can trigger an allergic reaction in most people.
 
It's wild how just a tiny bit of urushiol can cause such a strong reaction! Definitely something to avoid if you're out in nature.
