The construction is part of an ongoing drainage rehabilitation project that will span four months from September 27, 2024 to January 26, 2025. It's located near the LRT-2 Pureza Station in Santa Mesa, Manila, which is already known for its heavy traffic during rush hours. Expect traffic delays along Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced a partial road closure for the westbound lane until 2025. This critical work aims to fix drainage issues in the area, which have caused frequent flooding during the rainy season. When Typhoon Carina hit last July, it caused eight inches of flood water along Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard. The next four months may require some patience and planning to avoid getting caught in heavy traffic in the area. According to the DPWH, motorists heading to Divisoria or Quiapo are advised to take M. Dela Fuente Street, Paltok Street, or Larizabal Street as alternate routes throughout the construction period.

Looks like it's going to be a challenging few months with that road closure. Anyone passing through that area will definitely need to plan ahead and use those alternate routes to avoid the worst of the traffic! Hopefully, the drainage improvements will make a big difference in the long run.
