Incoming Barangay Ginebra guard Stephen Holt has no plans of slowing down following Sunday's Leo Awards that saw him being named the Season 48 PBA Rookie of the Year. The 6-foot-4 crack guard out of Saint Mary's admitted the pressure of proving one's self has always been there since Terrafirma made him the PBA's top overall pick during the 2023 Annual Rookie Draft. In fact, the 32-year-old Filipino-American guard had a slow start during the Season 48 Commissioner's Cup, averaging modest numbers of 12.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.5 assists as the Dyip limped to a 2-9 record to finish at 10th place. But the conference break saw the former NBA G League guard work his tail off. And his efforts yield dividends by the time the Philippine Cup rolled by. Holt, who previously played in Australia, Spain, Czech Republic, Poland, Kazakhstan and Romania, went on to post 21.1 points, 8.2 rebounds and 6.3 assists, along with 2.5 steals to help the Dyip seal a playoff spot in the All-Filipino conference. Together with Juami Tiongson, Isaac Go and Javi Gomez de Liano, Terrafirma shocked top seed San Miguel Beer in the opening round of the playoffs to force a do-or-die quarterfinal game. The Dyip managed to keep up with the Beermen in the first half of their knockout game, before San Miguel's depth and championship experience came in to play to prevail, ending the upset-conscious Terrafirma's dream run in the process.

Stephen Holt’s journey is nothing short of impressive! 🌟🏀 From a slow start to being named Rookie of the Year, his hard work truly paid off. His dedication during the break and standout performance in the Philippine Cup are a testament to his resilience. 💪👏 Can’t wait to see what’s next for him and Terrafirma!
