Shein's 2023 sustainability report revealed they found two cases of child labor at their suppliers last year, leading them to tighten their supplier policies. Orders from those suppliers were suspended until they improved their processes, like verifying workers’ IDs. Shein has since updated its policy to terminate any supplier immediately if severe violations, like child labor, are found. While the company is working on supply chain governance and reducing emissions, its transport emissions doubled in 2023. With an upcoming IPO in sight, Shein is aiming for more transparency and accountability.
