Spam mail got its name from the canned meat, thanks to a Monty Python skit where they joked about Spam being "horrible, everywhere, and impossible to avoid" – which kinda nails what junk mail feels like! 
And get this: for every 12 million spam emails sent, only one person actually replies. Makes you wonder if it's even worth the effort at all!
