An article from the Canadian Journal of Cardiology panning on some PBMAs mostly show that the PBMAs have less adverse cardiovascular health impacts as compared to the real meats. Those PBMAs are ultra-processed, but they are still lower in saturated fats but somewhat higher in fiber which is helpful in influencing cholesterol; and the high sodium of some of the products do not lead to increased blood pressure. PBMAs could be nutritionally variable for various points, but they are often known to offer a heart-healthier alternative to meat by reducing factors of cardiovascular diseases, such as LDL cholesterol. However, the researchers said that there is a need to carry out further large scale studies that are also of a long-term nature in order to determine the effects of these beverages on cardiovascular disease outcomes.
