Sweden confirms first case of ‘more grave’ variant of Mpox

Sweden just reported its first case of the more contagious mpox variant, which was picked up by someone who had been in Africa during a big outbreak. This is the first time the variant has shown up outside of Africa, and the World Health Organization has declared it a global public health emergency again due to its spread. The situation is being closely monitored, as the spread of this variant raises concerns about further global transmission.
